Siân has had a long career in the NHS, starting as a nurse in London, Oxford and then Cardiff where she set up and led a nursing service for chronic respiratory disease. She has wide experience of leading service improvement initiatives across different NHS sectors and is a Health Foundation Fellow and recipient of their Leaders for Change award. Siân worked as a commissioner of NHS services in Bristol for six years, focussing on long term conditions and as the lead for telehealth; her latest role in this setting was Head of Service Improvement. She has an interest in how evidence is used in practice and in recent roles has been leading and developing practical solutions to support commissioners use evidence for better decision-making.
