Julia Ross has been the Chief Executive for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group since May 2017. She successfully led the merger of three CCGs into a single commissioning voice for the area, and is now overseeing the strategic drive to create healthy, fulfilled lives for everyone in BNSSG.
Prior to this, Julia was Chief Executive at North West Surrey CCG where she established the organisation from its inception. As the Senior Responsible Officer for Surrey Heartlands STP, she developed a coalition of 11 organisations and set the direction of the partnership as it sought to transform care for its local population.
Julia has an extensive background in the NHS, and has held regional roles in commissioning development for the South East as well as National Modernisation Agency. She is passionate about designing services in partnership with communities, and established BNSSG’s ‘Citizens’ Panel’ as part of a broader approach to embedding co-production principles across the CCG. Julia is the co-executive lead of ‘Healthier Together’, BNSSG’s Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP), which was awarded ‘aspirant Integrated Care System’ status in 2018.
