Mark worked in Bangladesh for 15 years, latterly as Medical Director of International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh, an international public health research centre. Appointed as Director of Public Health for South Gloucestershire in January 2013, he is also a practicing consultant physician, chair of CLAHRC West and a Visiting Professor at the University of the West of England. South Gloucestershire Council’s Public Health and Wellbeing Team works closely with the Clinical Commissioning Group and actively seeks to support and influence all aspects of council and CCG activity to reduce inequalities and improve the health of the local population.
