With a lengthy military background, and following an injury whilst serving on operations in Afghanistan, Kevin originally joined the NHS on secondment to transfer the Specialised Paediatric Services to University Hospitals Bristol during the closure of Frenchay Hospital.

Remaining in the NHS, and after a period as a Divisional Manager at Weston Hospital, Kevin joined the West of England AHSN in March 2015 as the Patient Safety Programme Manager overseeing the work of the award winning Patient Safety Team.  During this period Kevin also directly led and delivered the successful Learning from Deaths and Emergency Laparotomy Collaboratives.  In May 2018 Kevin was appointed Associate Director for Patient Safety & Programme Delivery

Kevin is passionate about improving the quality and safety of care provided in the NHS.  Recognising the tremendous operational pressures in healthcare, he enjoys working with all staff levels and professions to facilitate and enable improvement activities leading to safer care for patients and enhanced staff wellbeing & satisfaction.
