Chris is a Project Manager in the Patient Safety team at West of England AHSN. Originally working in the Medicines Optimisation Programme, particularly focusing on Medicines Safety within care homes, he is now supporting the work around deteriorating patients.
Chris joined the West of England AHSN in 2019 after working as a Learning Disabilities Physiotherapist for over seven years in Bristol and Wiltshire community service, and gained further experience in an Acute setting.
Whilst working as a Physiotherapist, Chris’ focus was towards empowering individuals to achieve their potential and holistically improve their health and well-being through meaningful activity and promoting independence. He has been involved in preventative health initiatives and has a passion for reducing health inequalities and improving health and well-being.
He retains a vested interest in reducing inequalities and promoting improved independence for people with Learning Disabilities as a Board of Trustee member for a local charity called ‘The Hive Avon’.
Chris participated in the South West Leadership Academy’s ‘Leadership for frontline talent’ and uses the skills and knowledge developed during this programme to bring a person centred, positive and proactive approach to his work, and sees great value in effective collaboration, team work and a positive work culture.
“I love working here because it really feels like a whole team approach and a supportive and nurturing environment. There’s no question that’s too big or too small, or silly, and this allows you to feel comfortable sharing your ideas and thoughts, whilst given you empathy for external colleagues to ensure we promote an open and inclusive network and culture. I really feel this allows the work we do to flourish.”
