Connecting data

Connecting sources of data is one of the biggest challenges faced by the NHS. That is why it forms one of our biggest focuses for improvements as it is vital to support the decision making of our health and social care professionals.

We are joining up the health services across the West of England through the Connecting Data for Patient Benefit programme. This is helping to make sure that health and community care professionals are fully informed, productivity and efficiency is maximised, patients’ safety is optimised and the best possible care is provided to our service users.

A joined-up health service in action:

  • 4 feasibility studies to identify how health providers can connect data
  • 17 partner organisations with 7 systems already connected and sharing information for patient benefit
  • Over 90,000 views made by doctors and clinicians accessing individual patient data through the Connecting Care initiative
