An independent patient safety and quality improvement conference now in our eighth year, running virtually for the second year.  Open for registration !

Hear from patient safety and quality improvement experts, learn from practice-based improvement projects and share your work through our national poster competition. Speakers include Sir Robert Francis QC and Rachel Power, CEO of the Patients Association.

Who should attend?: Doctors, nurses, midwives, consultants, AHPs, GPs, patient safety and quality managers, solicitors among others.

Poster competition: The pandemic has necessitated new approaches to the provision of medical care in unprecedented circumstances. We invite you to share QI projects and projects that encompass learning during this time. Deadline 9 April 2021

Successful entries will be invited to give a live oral poster presentation* and qualify for a discounted delegate rate of £159. Prize and runner up awards in each category. * 2-minute presentation followed by Q&A with judge. Share your quality improvement and patient safety work in our National Poster Competition

Plenary topics include:

  • The Patient’s Voice: the importance of the voice of the patient in treatment decisions and treatment concerns. Sir Robert Francis QC and Rachel Power, CEO of The Patient’s Association
  • Writing, rounds and a rhinoceros. Dr Matt Morgan, author, intensive care doctor, lead for critical care research for Wales
  • Moral Injury and Psychological Wellbeing in Medicine. Dr Esther Murray, Health Psychologist
  • Understanding Sleep: Biology to Health. Professor Russell Foster, Head of the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology and the Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute

Speakers includes a keynote from Sir Robert Francis QC and Rachel Power, CEO of the Patients Association and talks by Matt Morgan, author and intensive care doctor, Dr Esther Murray, Health Psychologist.

Workshops include two West of England AHSN projects RESTORE 2 and PERIPrem Bundle.
