Event summary

Health and technology innovators will find out how to write a successful SBRI Healthcare funding application in this 90-minute online learning event, hosted by The West of England Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) in partnership with SBRI Healthcare.

Bringing together a range of expert speakers from SBRI Healthcare, NIHR, the West of England AHSN and its bid writing specialist, we will share knowledge, skills and ideas to help you to grow your understanding of the funding opportunities available to you through SBRI Healthcare, gather helpful tips, hints and resources, and gain the skills and confidence for writing successful funding applications.

Suitable for all health and technology innovators, this will be an informative and interactive session, featuring a series of short presentations followed by a Q&A session. You will have the chance to hear from, and speak to, a successful SBRI Healthcare award recipient about their story to date, and to have all your SBRI Healthcare funding questions answered by our expert panel.

Innovators are welcome from any background or sector, be at any stage of the innovation journey, and be based in any geographical location. You may work within commercial industry, a clinical or academic setting or for the voluntary, community, faith or social enterprise sector. You may be just starting out with an idea for an innovation or already have a solution in development or deployment.

The event will include:

  • A series of short presentations followed by a Q&A session with an expert panel.
  • A presentation from a successful SBRI winner about their SBRI journey.
  • Expert advice and guidance on how to complete a winning application – with hints and tips for success.

Our expert panel of speakers includes:

  • Xi Ye – Senior Programme Manager, SBRI Healthcare.
  • Ami Hodges – Senior Programme Manager, Innovation Programmes at NIHR.
  • Cheryl Scott – Senior Programme Manager, West of England AHSN.
  • Kevin Brooks – bid writing specialist and consultant to the West of England AHSN’s bid writing service.
  • SBRI award recipient – David Fried, CEO of EvolvRehab.
