Event summary

How do you get the broadest group of healthcare staff engaged, participating and owning service transformation?

FlowR8 is a highly participative and reactive learning exercise. With FlowR8 you can:
• Visualise Flow across the entire hospital
• Make decisions ‘real time’ that will impact on flow through the hospital

FlowR8 is a dynamic, interactive, highly participative workshop, built around a sophisticated simulation model. The workshop challenges participants to play through
a “day in the life” of the emergency care pathway in a hospital. Participants take the role of departments and are responsible for delivery of their local care objectives, for example, Emergency Departments need to ensure that patients wait no longer than 4 hours and Inpatient Wards that beds are available for surgical admissions. The goal is to get departments to work collaboratively to improve performance of the service as a whole.
The workshop has multiple runs, with skilled facilitation at the end of each run to draw out the key learning and encourage participants to develop their own solutions.
The first run takes 35 minutes after which performance results are shared and discussed. The results are a mix of familiar flow and performance measures and targets, along with some less familiar measures and analysis of delay. The objective is to devise and implement improvement strategies and reflect on the impact on subsequent simulation runs.

Outcomes
Participants will leave the session with a deeper understanding of how their own role can contribute to improved flow across the system.

SIMUL8 Corporation is delighted to be running workshops in partnership with The Cumberland Initiative. These will take place on:

• Thursday 11th February
• Thursday 10th March

Costs
The cost of the workshop will be £350 (+VAT) per participant with discounts offered for bookings of 3 or more delegates from the same organisation.
